3. AI features

The doubt solver, AI tutor, mentor check-ins, question generation and voice-to-text features send only the content needed for the task to AI model providers through our technology partner Emergent. That content can include your question text, attached photo, voice recording and recent performance summary. The providers are Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (including Whisper speech-to-text) and Google (Gemini, used only to create study images from syllabus content). We never send your mobile number or payment details to them, and they do not use this content to train their models. AI answers can contain mistakes, so please check important answers with your teacher.

4. Who we share data with

  • Within the academy: your teachers, mentors and office staff can see your data based on their role. A parent linked to a student can see that student's progress, attendance and fees. Rank boards may show your name or a shortened name, and your score, to students in your batch.
  • Service providers who process data for us: Emergent (hosting, database, file storage, push and email delivery, AI gateway), MSG91 (SMS login codes and reminders), Google (Google sign-in and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications), Razorpay (online fee payments) and the AI providers listed above. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
  • Our website: if you register for the RTSE scholarship test or send an enquiry on our website, those details are used to create your trial account in the app.
  • Legal reasons: when the law or a valid government request requires it.

We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. How long we keep data

  • We keep account, profile and learning data while your account is active.
  • When you delete your account, or ask us to delete it, we erase your personal data within 30 days.
  • Fee receipts, payment records and attendance registers are kept without your name or mobile number, only for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
  • Server and security logs are kept only as long as needed to protect the service.

6. How we protect your data

All data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. PINs and passwords are stored only as one-way (bcrypt) hashes and are never shown on any screen. After repeated wrong PINs, the account is temporarily locked. Signed login tokens protect every request. Access is limited by role, and sensitive staff actions are recorded in an audit log. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users and authorities of a breach as the law requires.

7. Children and parental consent

Most of our students are under 18. A parent or legal guardian gives consent at admission or sign-up before we process a child's data. Parents can see their child's records, correct them, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete the child's account at any time using the contact details below. We do not show ads to children, and we do not track or profile them for advertising. If we learn that a child's data was collected without a parent's consent, we will delete it.

8. Your rights

You (or your parent, if you are under 18) can:

  • see the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
  • withdraw consent and delete your account and personal data;
  • raise a complaint with us, and if you are not satisfied with our answer, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To delete your account and data: in the app, go to Profile → Settings (gear icon) → Delete account. You can also email therankersacademyngp@gmail.com or call +91 8329100890. The full steps are on our account deletion page. We reply to every request within 30 days.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date and tell you in the app.
